Prof. WEI-FAN KUAN
官韋帆 助理教授
Wei-Fan Kuan is an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Chang Gung University. He is also an Assistant Research Fellow of Hematology-Oncology Division in Department of Internal Medicine at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (joint appointment). Before the academic career, Wei-Fan has 3-year industrial R&D experience with focus on lithium battery manufacturing. His current research interest includes all-solid-state lithium battery, high-voltage battery, catalysis, surface phenomena, polymer membrane, and battery recycling.

The Team
Chia-Ching Kuo (郭佳青) "Amber"
Research Assistant
Amber is currently a research assistant in Prof. Kuan's group. She graduated from NTUT with major in organic polymers. She is familiar with laboratory management and project management with expertise in materials characterization, include FTIR, Raman, UV-vis etc. Amber is responsible for administrative matter in Kuan's lab now.
Dr. Debabrata Mohanty (Deb)
Postdoctoral Researcher
Dr. Debabrata Mohanty is currently a Postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Kuan’s Lab. He has received his phd focused on different solid state electrolytes and electrodes for solid state Li-ion batteries from YZU, Taiwan. His current research interest includes different energy storage materials specifically all-solid-state lithium battery, high-voltage battery, catalysis, battery recycling. Aside from research, He enjoys bike riding, traveling, playing cricket and badminton.
Ssu-Ping Liao (廖思評)
Master Student
Ssu-Ping is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University. She joined the Kuan group in 2023. She is currently working on polymeric membranes for lithium battery separator. Aside from research, Ssu-Ping likes to travel and listen to music.
Jen-Wei Teng (鄧人瑋)
Master Student
Jen-Wei is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University. He joined the Kuan group in July of 2022 and is researching the applications of CO2 supercritical fluid in cathode materials. Aside from research, Jen-Wei enjoys traveling abroad, listening to music and playing guitar.
Meng-Wen Chiu (邱孟紋)
Master Student
Meng-Wen is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University. She joined Kuan’s group in the summer of 2022. Her research focuses on polymer electrolytes for solid-state lithium-metal batteries. Outside of research, Meng-Wen enjoys visiting exhibitions and listening podcasts.
Yi-Chun Li (李亦純)
Master Student
Yi-Chun is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University. She joined the Kuan group in July of 2022 and is researching anode-free and high-voltage lithium batteries. Aside from research, Yi-Chun is interested in listening to music, enjoys traveling and tasting delicious food.
Yung-Liang Yang (楊詠喨)
Yung-Liang is a Chemical and Materials Engineering major at the Chang Gung University (B08, R12). He joined Kuan group in September of 2021. Currently, he is working on LNMO-based high-voltage lithium batteries. Outside of research, Yung-Liang enjoys playing basketball, chatting with others and watching videos.
Yen-Chin Tsai (蔡岩縉)
Yen-Chin is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University (B08, R12). He joined Prof. Kuan’s group in the summer of 2021. His research focuses on the catalyst preparation of CeO2 for Li-CO2 batteries. Aside from research, Yen-Chin enjoys playing basketball, watching video and listening to music.
Muhammad Aqil Hasani
Hasani is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at Chang Gung University from Indonesia. He joined the Kuan Group in August 2023. His research is focusing on regeneration of spent lithium batteries. Aside from his research, Hasani enjoys watching football games and movies and listening to kinds of music.
Undergraduate Students
Min Lo (羅敏) "Alice"
Alice is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University (B09). She joined the Kuan group in July of 2022. Currently, she is working on the structure modification of polymer membranes in order to improve the Li transport property in lithium-ion batteries. Aside from her research, Alice is also interested in watching videos, listening to music, and reading novels.
Pin-Ting Chen (陳品婷)
Pin-Ting is a Chemical and Materials Engineering major at the Chang Gung University (B09). She joined Kuan group in July of 2022. Currently, she is studying the crystallization behavior of PVDF membranes for the application in battery separator. Outside of research, Pin-Ting enjoys read novels for pleasure and listening to music.
Chia-Wen Kao (高嘉彣)
Chia-Wen is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University (B09). She joined Prof. Kuan’s group in the summer of 2022. Her research focuses on DES electrolyte . Aside from research, Chia-Wen enjoys playing volleyball, watching basketball games and hanging out.
Ching-Ting Yuan (袁靖婷)
Ching-Ting is an undergraduate student in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the Chang Gung University (B09). She joined Kuan group in the winter of 2023. She is working on electrode design for all-solid-state lithium batteries. Aside from her research, Ching-Ting enjoys listening to music and reading comic books.
Ting-Syuan Huang (黃亭瑄)
Ting-Syuan is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University (B10). She joined the Kuan group in July of 2023. Aside from her research, Ting-Syuan is also interested in watching videos and listening to music.

Yun-Chieh is a Chemical and Materials Engineering student at the Chang Gung University. She joined the Kuan group in July of 2023. Outside of research, Yun-Chieh enjoys listening to music and dancing.
